For 50 years, cable tv providers have been picking the winners & losers amongst media companies. The internet has helped level the field in favor of independent startups. And those startups are starting to flourish. Cable & Satellite companies are already shifting their billing models so that internet data services now costs consumers more than the basic TV channel packages. They could see this day coming for nearly 20 years. But several customers are getting gouged to the tune of $150/mo. or more; because they're paying for delux internet and TV packages. About 10 years ago, I used to spend about $1400/yr on cable tv & internet. The Internet portion was less than $500. As I weaned off the tv package, my internet fees rose to about $750/yr. 2 years agoI installed a powered digital tv antenna high atop my roof. Who knew that there are 44 over-the-air tv channels powerful enough to reach my home near the Arkansas River, in south Tulsa? And I'm not even counting the foreign language and shopping channels). If I use the motorized rotator on my new antenna, I can pick up another 10 channels! | | 5 Alternative platforms for National news content Now consumers can access media content via; - Antenna. Before the 1970s this is how great grandpa got tv. But it's been revamped to digital and each station has expanded to an average of 3 subchannels. All of them are free.

(mostly free) - Social Media Platforms. Youtube is a huge database of live & on-demand content. I'm not even talking about the new Youtube TV subscription service. Facebook Live is also a massive player in this field. But there are several other platforms for content creators to get their shows to the consumers. Twitter & Instagram are also big players.

- Mobile Device Apps.Podcastingis exploding. Most folks see podcasting as a sort of radio show, but these same apps also deliver video content. Many folks now listen to 'talk radio' via their podcast app, rather than arranging their day around the local broadcast schedules for their favorite radio shows. Several content providers createdtheir own media apps, to reach their markets.

Cable boxes, DVRs & VCRs are ancient precursors of the modern digital on-demand devices. Smart TVs are simply integrated TVs with the set-top devices built in. Roku & Amazon Fire are two of the biggest players in the smart tv market. 10 Free Conservative Content Providers | - Pluto TV. This little startup has become a type of free 'Dish TV' package of curated content. It's available at Pluto.TV or with a Roku set top device ($40 for the Roku device purchase, no monthly fees thereafter). The media giant, Viacom; bought Plutoand loaded the innovative platform with all their MTV, CBS News, and other content. NBC News is also on Pluto, Bloomberg, Cheddar,along with the London-based sister network of Fox News, Sky News.
Yes, this isn't an actual conservative news outlet, but it created an unprecedented platform for several of the rest on this list. Pluto recently built a conservative news/talk channel called 'The F1RST'. NewsMax has also been on Pluto from the inception. Now Blaze TV & America's Voice are also in the free lineup. - The F1RSTfeatures Dana Loesch & Buck Sextion, along with others. They are on Pluto TV, & have their own website, Youtube, & Facebook, & other platforms. It's completely free. Dana & Buck used to be featured on The Blaze TV. Podcasts content is also available.
- BlazeTV is Glenn Beck's media operation. It's on Pluto, as well as it's own Roku Channel;including the content that came in the merger with Mark Levin's CRTV. Blaze TV is on Pluto, as well as the Blaze website & a Youtube channel. Steven Crowder, Phil Robertson, Mark Levin, and other shows are part of the Blaze Network.They also have a 'pay wall' with additional content fora monthly fee.Podcasts content is also available.
- America's Voice is also there. Steven K Bannon is part of that lineup (Trump's former chief advisor in 2017). There are several contributors on this decentralized national consortium. They have a Youtube, Facebook, & website where their content is streaming live. It has much of the look & feel of the Tea Party initiatives of 10 years ago.Podcasts content is also available.
- Newsmax is also on Pluto. Trump's former Press Secretary is now on Newsmax, in their prime time slot. NewsMax is the most formidable challenge to Fox News, having added greatly to their news gathering resources. It's on Pluto TV as well as it's own App & social media platforms.Podcasts content is also available.
- Daily Wire is a YouTube channel & website. The outlet features Ben Shapiro , Michael Knowles, Matt Walsh, and others. They also have a 'pay wall' with additional website content fora monthly fee.Podcasts content is also available.
- Right Side Broadcasting is a Youtube & Social media operation which specializes in live national events. They cover the White House extensively, and are set up and streaming live at every Trump Rally.
- Townhall.comprovides basic news and issues coverage, but focuses far more on print content. they provide hourly radio news for hundreds of religious & conservative talk radio stationsPodcasts content is also available.
- Reason TV has been a liberty-conservative print publication for decades. They have expanded into TV & online content through their website & Youtube channel. John Stossel (formerly of ABC News & Fox News) is playing a growing role on this site.Podcasts content is also available.
- InfoWars is a site for sensationalized & conspiracy prone content. The left-leaning social media platforms have banned much of the content from this media provider.Podcasts content is also available.
