Last Updated on April 28, 2024 by Samuel Franklin

This Idleon character creation order guide details what classes to make for the best character setup in the current meta. Overcome your new player confusion by following this order and maximise the strengths of the different game classes to boost your game progression speed.

With over 5,000 hours of Idleon gameplay this guide is based on my own experience with the Idleon meta and community recommendations. Including base classes and subclasses this guide will take you from early game to end game as you conquer every world and skill Idleon has to offer. I also include answers to commonly asked questions like can you delete a character, rename characters and changing character class. For new players wondering where to start with character creation I always recommend that your first character is a Warrior followed by a Mage and Archer.

Idleon Character Creation Order Table

The current character creation order I recommend for the 10 character maximum is below, this ensures that you have the required world skills at the appropriate time and maximises your end game gains in the current Idleon meta. If you’ve already started creating your characters and they don’t match this order exactly this will not be a huge impact to your gameplay experience provided players ensure they have:

  • 3 of each of the base classes (warrior, mage and archer) and at least one of each job advancement
  • Only one of the secret class

Idleon Character Order Details

The recommended order for the best character setup above is based on the following factors:

  • Warriors are a great first class in Idleon as their weapons have innate multi target attacks that can help you speed through some of the early quests slightly faster. Their speciality in mining is also an important early game resource alongside chopping that makes Mages the ideal second character option as the Archer specialty of smithing is not critical early game.
  • Barbarian, Shaman and Bowman specialise in the world 2 skills of fishing, alchemy and catching that make them important initial subclasses.
  • Squire, Wizard and Hunter specialise in the world 3 skills of construction, worship and trapping that make them important second subclasses.
  • With a solid foundation of characters that meet your account needs you can then acquire the secret class which is weak initially although progresses into an account buffing powerhouse in time. Seventh is also a good option as there are several important merit shop quests that unlock boss equipment that requires successful boss kills on your first 6 characters and prevents you from getting stuck while you build up the secret class to the necessary power level.
  • 2 Squires is currently superior for the significantly improved world 3 construction gains that benefits a number of important game mechanics that makes it superior to a second Barbarian./li>
  • 2 Wizards is currently superior as they have a unique talent that allows them to equip two god powers from divinity at the same time in world 5 that improves the contribution to your account. This provides extra power compared to a second Bubonic Conjuror as the strength of that class comes from active play using Cranium Cooking and players can only active one character at a time.
  • 2 Siege Breakers is currently superior as they offer better damage scaling than the Hunter class pathway for improved AFK fighting gains overall. The alternative of a second Beast Master is inferior as they lack talents that benefit after your first and can’t reach as high damage output.

An alternative based on your preferences are:

  • 2 Barbarians instead of 2 Squires: While this can help overcome some fishing resource bottlenecks the main reason this alternative is attractive is for the World 4 cooking gains which is a significant source of account power. This second Barbarian (as a Blood Berserker) will double your cooking ladle gains. Personally I find that cooking progress is gated more by acquiring all of the sources of cooking speed than my number of ladles and you can acquire ladles from the W4 colosseum at sufficient numbers that I recommend a second Squire instead.

Idleon Character Common Quests (FAQ)

Below are answers to some of the common Idleon character related questions new players have:

Can I Delete A Character?

Currently you cannot delete a character in Idleon. If you’ve made a significant mistake in your account by either having more than 1 secret class or lack 3 of each base class I recommend players start again as you’ll likely quickly catch back up to your current progression. While you cannot delete your account you can start an account with a new email address.

Can I Rename A Character?

Currently you cannot rename a character in Idleon.

Can I Change The Class Of A Character?

Currently you cannot change the base class of a character (Warrior, Mage or Archer). However, players can switch classes between the sub classes by using a Sub Class Swap Token or elite classes by using an Elite Class Swap Token. These are available in the Gem Shop or occasionally as Idleon event rewards and provide the following swap options only:

  • Barbarian <> Squire
  • Shaman <> Wizard
  • Archer <> Hunter
  • Blood Berserker <> Divine Knight
  • Bubonic Conjuror <> Elemental Sorcerer
  • Siege Breaker <> Beast Master
